Sanders’ Streak Snapped in Stockton, CA with Dale Miller Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Starting 2024 with a five-race win streak, Justin Sanders and Dale Miller Motorsports looked to end their season on a five-race win streak as they entered Saturday’s Sprint Car Challenge Tour finale having won their last four races. While it looked like Sanders was well on his way to capping off the feat, issues in traffic while leading late in the race dashed those hopes.

“Unfortunately, we just got caught up with another car losing the handle right in front of us,” Justin Sanders said. “We had a really good car, and I think we showed that not only leading, but going from 14th to eighth to six laps after the incident.”

While chasing the NARC Championship in 410 action on Saturday night as well, Sanders and Dale Miller Motorsports were simply chasing after their 10th win of the season in 360ci action.

Earning quick time honors in qualifying time trials after going out second to last of the 24 entrants in attendance, Sanders lined up in the second row of his heat race. With the track staying fast and narrow early in the night with cooler temps arriving in the area, Sanders picked up a fourth place finish and locked himself into the High Sierra Industries Dash.

Going from third to second in the Dash, Sanders lined the Anrak/Thompson’s Family of Dealerships/North County Plastering backed No. 4SA up on the front row of the 30-lap feature event alongside DJ Netto.

When the race came to fruition, Sanders jumped out to the lead with Netto in tow. The race however, did get off to a slow start as stoppages hindered the early goings.

Still, Sanders was able to nail each and every restart despite Netto’s best efforts as he continued to lead the way.

With cautions keeping the leaders out of traffic for much of the night, the lone time the rear of the field came into play proved to be bad news for Sanders. On the 23rd lap, a car got out of shape in front of him, and with nowhere to go Sanders was involved in the incident as he helplessly sat in turns one and two.

Able to restart back in 14th, Sanders put on a show in the final laps as he zinged the Dale Miller owned car around the quarter mile and raced his way back to an eighth place finish.

“It was a tough way to end our season, because we definitely had a car that was good enough to win the feature,” Sanders added. “I do want to thank Dale and Tara Miller as well as all of the sponsors on our car for all their support.”

The Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Anrak, Thompson’s Family of Dealerships, North County Plastering, Triple X Race Co., Dale Miller Septic Inc., Smith Titanium, Frank’s Body Shop, Fisher Racing Engines, Walker Performance Filtration, ADCO Custom Driveline and Exhaust, Hair by Lovleen, Factory Kahne Shocks, TJ Forged Wheels, FK Rod Ends, King Racing Products, and A.R.T. Speed Equipment for their support.
