PETERSEN MEDIA: After rolling out a brand new Tech9 chassis last week at the Placerville Speedway, and picking up a win, Steven Tiner stayed hot, as he took command of the King of Kings opener in Hanford, CA late in the race on Saturday night, and scored his second consecutive victory.

“It is awesome to score our second straight win in the No. 94 car,” Tiner said. “We have some great people behind us, and with most of them being from the Hanford, CA area, it was awesome to grab a win there.”

25 360ci Winged Sprint Cars made their way to the Keller Auto Speedway for the series opener, and Tiner got things started off nice, as he timed the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 entry in third fastest in time trails.

Lining up sixth in his heat race, the Visalia, CA driver quickly moved into the third spot on the slick surface, as be battled with Cory Eliason, for position throughout. Clearing Eliason, Tiner would finish in the third spot, and move into the feature event, where he would line up in the second row.

With the pole sitter spinning in front of the field on the initial start, Tiner narrowly avoided contact with him, as he made an evasive move to avoid him, and keep his night going.

When the race came back to life, Tiner settled into the fourth spot as he chased after second and third running, Carson Macedo and Bud Kaeding as they raced in front of him until the caution flew on the second lap.

The ensuing restart saw Tiner stick the bottom in turns one and two, to get by Bud Kaeding for the third spot, as he set his sights on the lead duo of Macedo and Cory Eliason.

Taking a liking to the high-side of the speedway, Tiner was patient as he continued to run in the fourth spot, until the red flag flew just passed the halfway point as the top three were in heavy traffic. Back underway, Tiner went to work on Macedo, and was able to take over the second spot, just before the red flag flew on the 21st lap, setting up a nine lap shootout.

Tiner got a great restart, and stayed on Eliason’s rear bumper, as he continued to work the high, scary side of the speedway. On the 23rd lap, Eliason got off the bottom of the speedway and went high, but slipped up over the cushion, and Tiner was able to capitalize, as he jumped into the top spot, and never looked back.

He would hit his marks over the final seven laps, as he picked up his second win of the season.

“It was a great track, and it was a great battle with Bud Kaeding, Carson Macedo, and Cory Eliason,” Tiner said. “We were in a great position, and a really good car, so it is just awesome to grab another win, and continue a strong start to the season.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Elma Lanes, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-4, Wins-2, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-4
