PETERSEN MEDIA: Climbing back aboard the Van Dyke Motorsports No. 5h entry for two nights of NSL action, Dakota Hendrickson would finish 15th at the Huset’s Speedway after battling a throttle linkage issue, and would finish 16th at the Fairmont Speedway.
“It was an okay weekend, but we certainly would like to be fighting for better finishes,” Hendrickson said.
Hitting the Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, MN on Friday night, Hendrickson would time the Lucas Oil/K&N Products/JRI Shocks No. 5h machine in 16th fastest.
Starting sixth in his heat race, Hendrickson would take advantage of some misfortune and race his way to a third place finish as he would then line up in the eighth row of the feature event.
Racing with Skylar Prochaska and Travis Whitney during the feature event, the Omaha, NE driver would bring his night to a close with a 16th place effort.
With Saturday night’s program raining out, Hendrickson and his Van Dyke Motorsports team would head to the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night in Brandon, SD.
With 25 cars on hand for the Sunday night program, Hendrickson would time the NAAKE Suspension/FSR Radiators backed entry in 17th fastest. Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Hendrickson would have some tough company in the name of Tim Kaeding and Dusty Zomer as he slipped back to finish third.
Moving into the 35-lap A Main, Hendrickson would grid the field from the ninth row. When the fast moving race got underway, Hendrickson was able to work his way forward a few spots as he found himself in the 14th spot.
Having some throttle issues, Hendrickson would bring his machine to a stop on the backstretch, and take a quick trip to the work area.
Able to restart the race, the Omaha, NE driver would work his way back to a 15th place finish.
“I have to thank my team for their hard work all weekend,” Hendrickson added. “I am looking forward to this coming weekend, and I am hopeful we can pick up some better results.”
