Kyle Hirst is making it hard for us to hand this award to anyone else right now. After sweeping the Howard Kaeding Classic in Watsonville, CA, Hirst stayed locked in as he swept through the Peter Murphy Classic this past weekend at the Thunderbowl in Tulare, CA. During the opening night of action, Hirst could be found banging the boards at the intimidating track while most others worked the bottom, and on Saturday night he used a big move on a mid-race restart to take command and never look back. With his sweep, Hirst now has Five series wins thus far in 2016, and has finished either first or second in the last five races in his quest for his third KWS title. As dominant as Hirst was with the KWS, Ryan Bernal was equally as dominant with the USAC 360’s at the PMC as earns honorable mention this week. After winning the opener, Bernal took the Peter Murphy Challenge on Saturday night and came form 11th to finish second.
