Carson Hammes Battles Hard at Fall Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA: Freshly minted as the Marysville Raceway Track Champion, Carson Hammes and his team continued their season over this past weekend as they made their way north to Chico, CA to take on some of the regions best during the coveted Fall Nationals.

“When you get all of the top drivers in the area in one place, it makes for some great racing, but it makes for some tough racing,” Hammes said. “Thankful for my family and all of our partners for their support and all of their help.”

The action kicked off on Friday night as Hammes checked in to Silver Dollar Speedway and timed the Movement Brewing/STS Farming/All About Fire Protection backed  No. 56C in 12th fastest in his qualifying flight.

With a split field time trial format in play over the weekend, Hammes lined up sixth in his heat race and needed to finish inside the Top-5 to transfer into the feature event and avoid any preliminary races.

Able to move into fifth as the action kicked off, Hammes settled in and fought hard to keep the final transfer. Holding on to the fifth spot, Hammes was locked into the ‘A’ where he lined up 19th on the starting grid.

On a tricky surface, Hammes was able to pick his way forward a few spots as he battled hard in traffic for much of the race.

Working his way up inside the Top-15 at times, Hammes ended up capping Friday night off with a 16th place finish.

Saturday night brough on the Fall Nationals finale, and also brought the curtain down on the 2024 Silver Dollar Speedway season.

With 41 cars packed into the Silver Dollar Speedway pit area, Hammes went out extremely early in time trials and it proved to be a little tricky as he timed in 20th fastest in his flight and found himself in a bit of an early hole.

Lining up 10th in his heat race, the Marysville, CA resident was able to move up a spot to finish 9th but it put him in the ‘C’ Main.

Keeping his nose to the grindstone, Hammes went into the ‘C’ and tallied a third place finish to keep his night alive as he moved into the ‘B’.

Lining up in the back of the ‘B’, Hammes had a long road ahead of himself, but did what he could. Against a stout field he was able to pick up a few positions as he made it to the 14th spot where he brought his weekend to a close.

Hammes Motorsports would like to thank Movement Brewing, STS Farming, All About Fire Protection, Summit Partners Burbank Agency, Escalera Inc., Harper Inc., Rock Crushing Solutions, Shane Matthews Transport, and Ace Attorney Services for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 17, Wins: 3, Top 5’s: 6, Top 10’s: 7

ON TAP: Carson Hammes is TBD on his next event at this time. He is hoping to take part in Marysville’s annual Spooktacular event.
