Braden Chiaramonte Eighth With Sprint Car Challenge Tour During First Visit to Petaluma Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Amidst the busiest stretch of the season with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, Rookie of the Year contender Braden Chiaramonte continues to put in solid outings against some of the region’s top drivers. Saturday night, the El Cajon, CA driver made his first appearance at Petaluma Speedway and netted an eighth-place finish when the checkered flag was displayed to the field.

With 23 cars on hand for the series’ first of two visits to the Sonoma-Marin County Fairgrounds on the 2024 schedule, Chiaramonte kicked the night off by timing the Tiner Hirst Enterprise/HRP/Eagle Motorsports Inc. backed No. 94TH in 16th fastest in time trials after going out very early in the session.

Continuing to adapt to the tricky black clay that Petaluma Speedway features, Chiaramonte had a solid showing in his heat race after taking the green flag from the sixth starting position. On a track that is traditionally tough to pass on early in the night, Chiaramonte got a good start as he settled into fifth. Hanging on to finish fifth, Chiaramonte bettered his feature event starting position as it lined him up 12th for the 35-lap feature event.

When the feature went green, Chiaramonte settled into 12th the field jockeyed for position around the speedway. Slipping back to 15th after stumbling on a restart, Chiaramonte never wavered as the feature event got a little hectic in front of him.

Getting back into 14th on the 11th lap, Chiaramonte was back into 12th at the halfway point of the feature event. Continuing to show patience and avoid some of the chaos, the 17-year-old driver moved into the Top-10 on the 20th lap.

Taking over the eighth position a couple of laps later, Chiaramonte settled in and rode the rest of the feature out in eighth as he tallied another Top-10 with the series.

The Tiner Hirst Enterprise Racing team would like to thank Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Hepfner Racing Products, EMI, Fisher Racing Engines, System 1, Larry Davis Farms, and Slade Shocks for their continued support.

ON TAP: Chiaramonte and Tiner Hirst Enterprise will be back in action on Saturday night as they will now travel to Antioch Speedway to cap a busy month of action with the series.
