Allard Fourth at Ocean Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Making his season debut at the Ocean Speedway as part of the KWS event on Friday night, Jonathan Allard would finish in the fourth spot before rallying to finish ninth on Saturday night at the Calistoga Speedway.

“It was a decent weekend for our team,” Allard said. “I made a mistake on Friday nights feature event and it took us of the podium, and on Saturday we really had to rebound after time trials and salvaged our night with a ninth place finish.”

Checking in at the Ocean Speedway on Friday night, Allard would time the Tri-C Manufacturing/ButlerBuilt/All American Powder Coating baked No. 3c machine in fourth quickest for the Pombo/Sargent Classic.

Gridding the field from the second row of the night’s first heat race, Allard would work his way forward and finish in the second spot, which would secure him a spot in the six-lap dash.

Running second to Willie Croft, Allard would line his King Racing Products/BR Motorsports backed entry up on the front row for the 30-lap A main event.

Falling into the third spot when the race came to life, Allard would find himself chasing after Kyle Hirst and Willie Croft who led the way in front of him. Working around the bottom of the speedway, Allard would get tight and open the door for Shane Golobic who dropped him back to the fourth spot.

Getting back into the third spot when the leader had trouble, the restart would see Allard shuffle back to fourth, where he would go on to finish.

Heading to the Calistoga Speedway on Saturday night, Allard would not get the lap he was hoping for in time trials as he found himself timing in 14th quickest.

From the back of his heat race, Allard would have his elbows up as he would work his way forward and finish in the third spot. The strong run though was all for not, as his qualifying time would place him in the eighth row for the 25-lap feature event.

Using the top side of the wicked fast ½ mile speedway, Allard would get to work quickly as he began working his way through the field. Taking advantage of a few restarts, Allard would crack the Top-10, before taking the checkered flag with a ninth place finish.

“My guys have been busting their tails for me, and I was really hoping to get them a win this weekend but it didn’t’ happen,” Allard added. “We have another busy week ahead of us, and we will continue to work at it, and hopefully get this car into victory lane.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, Walker Performance Filtration, ButlerBuilt, All American Powder Coating, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline, and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-31, Wins-6, Top 5’s-19, Top 10’s-21.
