Allard Continues Hot Summer

PETERSEN MEDIA- Since Jonathan Allard and Clark Riolo joined forces a few weeks ago, Allard and his Tri-C Motorsports team have been hot as of late, and that continued over the weekend, as Allard would charge from 16th to second at the Calistoga Speedway, a night after being involved in a wreck on lap 24 while leading at the Ocean Speedway.

“We have been awesome the last couple of weeks, and it’s a huge testament to this team, and how hard we have worked all year long,” Allard said.

Getting his two-race weekend kicked off on Friday night at the Ocean Speedway with the King of the West Series, Allard would time the Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/ButlerBuilt backed No. 3c entry in ninth fastest.

Picking up the heat race win, and then going on to win the Dash, Allard would earn the right to start on the pole for the 30-lap feature event. Battling with Mitchell Faccinto for the first few laps, Allard would lose the challenger and begin to open up a commanding lead.

Turning in some very impressive laps on the immaculately prepared Ocean Speedway, Allard looked to be in a league of his own on this night as he spent much of his time carving through lapped traffic.

On the 24th circuit, things took a turn for the worse as contact with a lapped car saw Allard’s machine get turned sideways and make heavy contact with the turn-two retaining wall. Though Allard was uninjured, his car was in bad shape, and his night came to an end.

Regrouping and pulling down a back up car for Saturday night’s Wine Country Classic in Calistoga, CA, Allard would get off to a slow start as he timed in 16th fastest.

Working his way from sixth to fourth in the heat race, Allard would not qualify for the dash, and found himself at the back of the pack, as he lined up in the eighth row for the 25-lap A Main event.

Running a very patient race, Allard flexed his muscle as he worked his way forward on the Calistoga Speedway cushion.

As the race came down the home stretch, a couple of cautions flags were needed, and Allard was able to take advantage of restarts, as he would find himself in the second spot, with just two laps to go.

The final restart of the night saw him stalk race leader, Kyle Hirst, and come oh-so-close to stealing the win at the flag stand, as he settled for a second place fiish.

“We were really good all weekend long, and just had some bad luck on Friday night, which I hate for my guys,” Allard said. “We got off to a rough start on Saturday, but we stayed the course and rebounded very well. I really have to thank Clyde and Marion Lamar for sticking with this team, and hopefully we can get them back in victory lane very soon.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline,  and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-37, Wins-7, Top 5’s-18, Top 10’s-23.

ON TAP: Allard and company are still deciding on where they will be at next, but plan to be in action on July 4th.
