Tony Gualda Continues to Knock on the Door at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Tony Gualda continues to be a threat to win any given night at Placerville Speedway, and the Hollister, CA youngster came oh so close on Saturday night before ultimately coming home with a second place finish.

“To finish second with the issues we had going in in the feature and come home in one piece in a small victory in itself,” Tony Gualda said. “Unfortunately we lost brakes on the first lap, and then with about 10-to-go we had power steering issues and I was hanging on as best as I could.”

Gualda and C&M Motorsports continued to shine at Placerville Speedway in 2019 as Gualda opened the night by earning his fourth quick time award of the season in four starts at the track aboard the Moorfield Construction, Inc./Hollister Auto Parts/PitStopUSA backed No. 7c machine.

Going from fourth to third in his heat race, Gualda would move into the redraw where the one pill put him on the front row of the 25-lap feature event.

When the race came to life, Gualda would jump out to the early lead but quickly figured out he had a brake issue going on. With cautions and restarts not being what he needed, Gualda would find a way to continue to lead despite the myriad of stoppages that took place on Saturday.

A restart on lap 20 would change the outlook on the night, as Andy Forsberg would get past Gualda, and Gualda would turn into the ‘hunter’ as he chased after the lead for the final five laps before settling for second.

“It was another really good night for us, and I can’t thank Cody and Mandi for continuing to let me driver their car,” Tony Gualda said. “MF continues to work super hard for us, and I also have to thank my family, friends, and our sponsors for continuing to support us.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Moorefield Construction, Inc., Hollister Auto Parts, PitStopUSA, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: Gualda and C&M Motorsports return to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.
