PETERSEN MEDIA- Running at Rapid Speedway and Knoxville Raceway over the course of the last week, Tim Kaeding would get back to his winning ways during the Randy Droescher Memorial on Tuesday night.
“It was good to get back in victory lane with our 360,” Tim Kaeding said. “Knoxville we just couldn’t get going, so we will get back there this week and try again with the Nationals coming up extremely quick.”
Winning his heat race form the pole, TK would line the Folkens Bros. Trucking/East River Homes/Dammer Trucking backed no. 3 machine up in the third row for the feature event.
When the race came to life, Kaeding would get collected in a pile up in turns one and two and would be forced to the back of the pack. With no issues to his Lunstra Motorsports machine, TK would go on to absolutely thrill all that were in attendance on this night.
Putting his machine all over the track, Kaeding’s machine was good high, low and in the middle. Thrilling the crowd with each and every move, Kaeding would take advantage of several restarts to continue gain positions as he marched to the front.
On lap 14, Kaeding would pass for the lead but the yellow flag would again waive and negate his pass. Going back to the second spot, the San Jose, CA driver would make his move on the restart and this time the move would stick, as the caution would again fly a lap later.
Out in front, Kaeding would not be denied, as he would successfully charge his way from the back of the pack to claim a very exciting win.
Kaeding and company would return to action on Saturday night as they made the trip to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, IA.
Timing in 17th quickest in qualifying, Kaeding would race his way to a heat race win and line up in the seventh starting position in the 20-lap A main event.
Racing hard in the feature, TK couldn’t get going as he was forced to miss his marks as he avoided some questionable moves by his competitors. Doing all he could, the California native would keep his machine well inside the Top-10 as he battled with Dusty Zomer and Justin Henderson.
When the quick race came to a close, Kaeding would cross under the checkered flag in the ninth position.
“Saturday night, I just couldn’t hit my marks,” Kaeding said. “We were in a group and guys were going every which way and it made it tough to get going. We have a pretty good car right now, and we will work hard to fine tune it these next couple of weeks.”
The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Folkens Bros. Trucking, Dammer Trucking, Mihm Trucking, Yager Agriculture Supply, Matt’s Repair, East River Homes, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2017.
