PETERSEN MEDIA: Running close to his home in Visalia, CA on Saturday night, Steven Tiner would charge forward in the feature event and finish third at Keller Auto Speedway.

“I messed up in time trials and that put us back a little bit in the feature since we didn’t get into the Dash,” Tiner said. “I have to take Cody and Mandi of C&M Motorsports for letting us rent an engine to run the race, it was a good run to end up third.”

Timing the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 machine in 11th fastest in time trials, Tiner would find himself on the front row of his heat race. Needing to grab the win to move into the Dash, Tiner would admittedly get a bad start and ended up finishing second.

Lining up 10th in the feature, Tiner would do a great job working around the immaculately prepared Keller Auto Speedway. Working his way into the top-five, Tiner would soon find himself in the fourth spot as he chased after Mitchell Faccinto and Cory Eliason.

Getting close to the lead duo in the closing laps, Tiner would try to make a run at them but on this night he would settle for a podium finish.

“The engine got a little hot at the end of the race, and since it was a borrowed piece I focused on that a little bit at the end and it messed me up a little,” Tiner added. “All in all, I was just happy to get the chance to race, and even more happy everything went okay and we ran well.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Kevin Sharrah Designs, Prior Engineering, B&B Racing Engines, ART, System One Pro Ignition, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-33, Wins-3, Top 5’s-15, Top 10’s-22

ON TAP: Tiner will be back at it on Saturday September 16th in Placerville, CA for the tracks regular season finale.
