PETERSEN MEDIA- Continuing to follow the Civil War Series in 2018, Jarrett Soares checked into Marysville Raceway on Saturday night for the 19th Annual Mel Hall Memorial and went on to finish in the seventh position.
“Our night got off to an interesting start,” Soares said with a bit of a laugh. “My first lap of time trials I was dead last, but luckily I figured it out on the second lap and really saved our night.”
Timing the American Tool & Mfg./C&H Veteran Enterprises/Performance Powder Coating backed No. 12 machine in third quickest in time trails after nearly a disastrous start to his night, the Gilroy, CA driver would race his way to a fourth place finish in his heat race.
Making an appearance in the Dash, Soares would tally a fifth place finish that solidified him the fifth starting position in the 30-lap Mel Hall Memorial feature event.
On a sticky and fast racing surface, Soares would battle with some stiff competition on this night that included the likes of Geoff Ensign, Cole Macedo, and Sean Becker.
Holding his own and continuing to figure out the Marysville Raceway surface, Soares would close his Saturday night out with a seventh place finish.
“What nearly started out as a horrible night really did a U-Turn, and I am thankful for that,” Soares said. “I have to thank my guys for all of their hard work, and keeping me motivated.”
Jarrett and his Jarrett Soares Racing team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Veteran Enterprises, Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, Dickens Cider, and Walker Performance Filtration for their support.
ON TAP: The Jarrett Soares will be back in action on Saturday night as he will follow the King of the West Series to Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA.
