PETERSEN MEDIA- During the epitome of a wild night at the race track, Jarrett Soares would overcome adversity on two occasions and find himself finishing eighth during the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial.

“It was just a wild, wild night,” Soares said. “We were one of the few left standing at the end of the 40-lapper even though our car is a little banged up.”

Soares would get off to a nice start on Saturday night at Silver Dollar Speedway as he timed the American Tool & Mfg./C&H Veteran Enterprises/Performance Powder Coating No. 12 machine in 20th fastest in time trials.

Heat race action would see the Discovery Bay, CA driver pocket a fourth place finish and punch his ticket into the feature event, but the call would later be reversed to a split yellow finish situation and Soares would see himself on the outside of the feature event.

Lining up fifth in the semi, Soares would avoid a big wreck that occurred right in front of him on the initial start and would move into third starting spot when the field got restacked.

Running in third for nearly the duration of the 12-lap contest, Soares would see Gio Scelzi sneak by him in the final laps and he would finish in the fourth spot and transfer into the feature.

Gridding the field from the 20th starting position, Soares was very patient on a demanding track that seemed to get the best of many of his fellow competitors.

Missing a nosewing for much of the race, Soares was gutty as he stayed out of harms way and raced hard. On the 28th lap Soares would find some trouble and it would result in his car laying over on it’s side but had minimal damage.

Making repairs and restarting the race, Soares was able to hang on at the end and finish in the eighth spot.

“We got lucky and avoided some of the craziness,” Soares added. “I have to thank Brian Sperry and my guys for working hard, and getting us back on the track, because there was some cool stuff up for grabs for the hard charger.”

Jarrett and his Soares Motorsports team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Veteran Enterprises, Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, Dickens Cider, and Walker Performance Filtration for their support.

ON TAP: Soares is hoping to return to action with the KWS on Saturday night in Placerville, CA.
