PETERSEN MEDIA: Continuing to open his season battling with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during the California swing, Sean Watts is taking some lumps but the Atwater, CA driver is letting the results get to him.
“We have some new things going on with our team this year, and despite the results not being anywhere near what we want we are making strides and will hopefully be dialed in when our CA season starts,” Sean Watts said.
With qualifying the name of the game with the ‘WoO’, Watts would get off to a tough start as he timed the Grizzly Coolers/Schaeffer Racing Oil/Rolfe Construction No. 98 sprinter in 18th quickest in time trials.
“I didn’t get qualified well, and with these guys that is essentially your night,” Watts added.
Finding himself in the fifth row of his heat race, Watts would do a nice job in the eighth lap affair as he would work his way forward a couple of positions and finish in seventh.
Going back to time trial results for the semi mains, Watts would find the Billet America/Darrel Varni Electric/Kaeding Performance entry in the third row of Saturday night’s C Main.
On a fast surface, Watts would be pleased with the laps he turned in, but his fourth place finish would bring his night to an end.
“I just couldn’t pass enough cars after getting into a big hole in time trials,” Watts added. “I think we are definitely heading in the right direction. Hopefully we can get at least one more night in this week and continue to work and improve.”
Sean and the Watts Rolfe Speed-Sports team would like to thank Grizzly Coolers, Schaeffer Racing Oil, Rolfe Construction, Billet America, Darrel Varni Electric, Kaeding Performance, Shannon Pumps, Stealth Homes, Tee’s and Tops, Team Simpson, Kistler Racing Engines, and Stan Yockey Motorsports for their continued support.
