PETERSEN MEDIA: As the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series kicked off their Spring Break Tour out west, the only two drivers to win races in 2018 stayed hot as they each racked up a win a piece in Sin City.
Invading Las Vegas, NV on Wednesday and Thursday night as part of NASCAR weekend in Sin City, the World of Outlaws took center stage to open things up during a frigid couple of nights in the desert.
Wednesday was a wild night of racing, but it was Sheldon Haudenschild and his Stenhouse Jr/Marshall Racing team enduring several restarts with Donny Schatz on his rear bumper. Keeping Schatz at bay, Haudenschild was able to grab his second series win of the young season.
Thursday night was more of the same between Haudenschild and Schatz. With Haudenschild leading early, Schatz was extremely patient on the low side of the speedway. With Haudenschild hammering the top, Schatz would reel him in and take the race lead with under five laps to go, as he used his KSE Racing Products to ride to the feature event win.
In USCS action in Mississippi, Wayne Johnson was able to pick up the Friday night in at Hattiesburg Speedway, before Tony Stewart used his KSE Racing Products to wire the field on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway.
In fitting fashion in Australia, Jamie Veal was able to park the Krikke Motorsports entry in victory lane in the Krikke Boys Shootout at Quit Bunbury Speedway.
