Peterson Makes Return to Placerville Speedway after Extended Break

PETERSEN MEDIA- Having some tough luck to open his 2017 season, Matt Peterson took a couple weeks off to regroup before returning to action at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.

“It was a nice little break to get away and reset, and I really felt back to my old self on Saturday night,” Matt Peterson said. “We had a really good car, and I felt good but a little racing incident at the end of the night ended a pretty good run.”

25 cars checked into Placerville Speedway on Saturday night and Peterson wasted no time shaking a little rust off, as he timed the Miller Lite/Inventory Sales Company/Bear Trucking No. P37 machine in sixth fastest in time trials.

Picking up the important heat race win, the Wilton, CA pilot would advance into the redraw where the six pill lined the Transportation Services/Future Energy Savers/Hoskins Mechanical Resources machine up in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

When the race came to life, Peterson would hang around the Top-10 as he battled in the seventh spot for much of the night. As the race continued to move along, Peterson would get stronger as he was able to work his way up into the fifth spot.

As he battled for position, contact with a competitor would fold Peterson’s front end up. Unable to make repairs, Peterson would take his car back to the trailer and his night would come to a close.

“It’s kind of how the season has gone so far, but I really have to thank my family and everyone that supports us and helps us out,” Peterson said. “It felt good to get back in the car, and get back to the track, and hopefully we can get right back to racing and have some success and get some momentum.”

Matt and his team would like to thank, Miller Lite, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Transportation Services, Future Energy Savers, Hoskins Mechanical Resources, Vahlco Wheels, JhdDesings, Shell Shock, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2017.
