PETERSEN MEDIA: After a tough Fourth of July weekend, Seth Nunes was resilient during two night of action over the past weekend as he picked up a fourth place finish at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, before notching a third place finish at the Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night.
“After a pretty rough week it was really nice to bounce back and have a good weekend of racing with this team,” Seth Nunes said.
Checking in at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Nunes kicked things off by timing the Jim and Annette Van Lare owned No. 5v machine in eighth fastest before finishing second in his heat race.
Gridding the field from the fifth spot for the 25-lap feature event, Nunes would have a nice run as he battled with the likes of Kalib Henry and Sean Becker during the feature event. Running in the Top-Five much of the race, Nunes would take the checkered flag with a fourth place finish.
Bolting in a 360ci power plant and heading to Petaluma, CA on Saturday night, the Medford, OR driver would time the Napa Auto Parts/Lucas Oil Products/VSR Steering Repair entry in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials.
On a hooked up and rough vintage Petaluma Speedway surface, Nunes would finish fourth in his heat race before pulling the eight pill for the feature event. An extremely eventful feature event saw Nunes work his way forward as he was able to avoid some of the wildness.
Working his way into the third spot late in the race, a red flag on lap 18 would ultimately force officials to call the race a littler shorter than scheduled, and Nunes would close his weekend out with a third place finish.
“All of these guys work hard night in and night out, and it was nice to rebound for them and show how hard they really work,” Nunes said. “I have to thank Jim and Annette Van Lare and all of their sponsors for continuing to support me and let me have some fun.”
Seth would like to thank Napa Auto Parts, Lucas Oil Products, VSR Steering Repair, Bianchi Farms, Cameron and Cameron Ranch & Vineyard Supply, CCI, and Awesome Racewear for their support in 2016.
ON TAP: Seth will be back in action on Friday night at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA.
