Meyers Masters Tulare

PETERSEN MEDIA- Jason Meyers showed no signs of rust this past weekend, as he returned to the cockpit of his Tarlton Racing No.21M machine after nearly a month off, and scored two wins against the King of the West Series in Tulare, CA.

“I cannot thank the Tarlton family enough for the opportunity to still get out and do what I love when I have the chance,” he said. “We struggled a bit with the World of Outlaws in March and April, and to come out here and have the success this weekend is pretty awesome.”

Kicking action off on Saturday night, Meyers started his dominant weekend off by timing his Corporate Lending America/Tachi Palace and Casino/Tarlton and Son backed entry in with the fastest lap of the night during time trials.

Heat race action saw ‘Hotfoot’, find the top to his liking, as he muscled his way to a heat race win from fourth, and put the Bandy and Associates/Pro Signs/BG Lubricants machine comfortably in both the main event and the dash.

The ‘Grudge Draw’ saw Meyers end up with the one pill, and lead all six laps of the event to earn the right to start the 30-lap feature event from the pole.

When the green lights flickered, Meyers grabbed the lead heading into turn one, but immediately felt pressure from Willie Croft, as hes worked the low side of the speedway.

On the third lap Meyers slipped back to the second spot, as he chased Croft through traffic on the extremely racy Thunderbowl Speedway.

Keeping Croft within striking distance over the next 14-laps, Meyers took advantage of a slight bobble, and muscled his way back into the lead on lap 17.

A lap 19 caution bunched the field back up, and with just 11 markers remaining, the fans were in for a treat, as Kyle Hirst instantly began fighting for the lead when the race resumed.

As the duo exchanged slide jobs, lap after lap, it was Meyers fending off Hirst after one final attempt for the lead on the last lap, to pick up his first series win of the season, capping off a ‘clean sweep’.

“That race was awesome, and I hope all of you fans enjoyed that,” Meyers shouted on the front stretch. “Kyle Hirst gave me all I could handle, and I had a blast. I’m thankful we came away with the win, and I’m looking forward to Sunday.”

Sunday had the same feel for Meyers, as the Tarlton Racing team was again very strong early.

With 25 cars on hand for the finale, Meyers was strong again in time trials, as he kick-started his night with a fourth quick effort.

Starting in the second row of his heat, Meyers moved into the second spot as he chased after Bud Kaeding, looking to score another heat race win, but the Clovis, CA pilot settled for second, though he was again in both the Dash and the Feature.

Starting third in the Dash, Meyers moved into the second spot, as he chased after Kyle Hirst, and his second place finish again put him on the front row with Hirst for the second night in-a-row.

Once on the loud pedal, Meyers seemed to be in a league of his own, as he raced away from the field and hid.

Out in front, the only thing that seemed to slow Meyers was lapped traffic, though his ability to cut through them with no issues helped him cap off the weekend sweep as he picked up his second win in as many nights by nearly four seconds.

“It is awesome to be back standing on the front stretch celebrating another win,” he said. “Paul Baines and my guys really gave me a great car both nights and it is awesome to get two wins. I have to thank Corporate Lending America/Tachi Palace and Casino/Tarlton and Son, and all the people who back this operation for their support.
