PETERSEN MEDIA- The month of March saw Carson Macedo run extremely well with Tarlton Motorsports. Macedo was a model of consistency as he recorded his fourth Top-10 of the month as he finished eighth on Saturday night in Placerville, CA.
“It was a deep field of cars, and we really took care of business early in the night and put ourselves in a great position,” Carson Macedo said. “We just struggled a bit in the feature, but still came away with a great result.”
Timing the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales backed No. 21 machine in second quickest in his qualifying time trial group.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Macedo would jump into the second position as he stalked early leader, Andy Forsberg. Running a great line through the middle, Macedo continue to erase Forsberg’s lead.
Staying committed, Macedo would drive around Forsberg to grab the win, and also earn a berth into the Dash, where a fifth place finish lined him up in the third row for the 35-lap ‘A’ Main.
On a surface that stayed fast most of the night, and built up a massive curb in both sets of corners, Macedo would spend the night battling inside the Top-10. Racing with drivers like Andy Forsberg, Kyle Hirst, and Tim Kaeding, Macedo would put on a show as the gaggle of former champions raced hard for position.
Slipping back a little at the end of the race, Macedo would accept the checkered flag in the eighth position.
“We would have like to have finished a little better, but we took what we could get,” Macedo added. “I have to thank Paul Baines, Tyrone, and my Dad for working extremely hard to get cars switched around for me to race after Tommy ran on Friday night. I also have to thank everyone at Tarlton Motorsports for allowing me to race at home before heading to the Midwest this week.”
Tarlton Motorsports would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2018 season.
BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 4, Wins: 0, Top 5’s: 2, Top 10’s: 4.
ON TAP: Macedo will now vacate the Tarlton Motorsports machine as he heads to the Midwest to kick off the All Star Circuit of Champions season this weekend in Ohio.
