PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part in two events at Stockton Dirt Track the last two weeks, things did not go Cody Lamar’s way and the Sacramento, CA driver is looking forward to changing venues and getting to Petaluma Speedway Saturday night with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.

“It was a grid all night,” Lamar said. “We had issues in time trials, worked hard in our heat and the ‘B’, and ended up overheating in the feature and pulling off early.”

Getting no time in time trials with his nose wing collapsing, Lamar would line the A1 Septic/Amsoil/Walker Performance Filtration entry up dead last in his heat race. With his work cut out for himself, Lamar would race his way forward to miss out on a transfer by just one position.

Forced into the B, Lamar would find himself at the back of the pack again with no time trial time. On an extremely slick racing surface, the former Marysville Raceway Champion was able to get going as he worked his way forward against a star studded semi.

Working his way into the last transfer, Lamar would hang on to the position and move into the 30-lap feature event where he would again line up at the tail end of the field.

Against an even deeper field in the feature event, Lamar would make some moves early but would stall out and focus on laying down strong laps as he chased after some stout competition.

Late in the race, Lamar would notice his engine gaining temperature at a high rate, and would think better than to push the issue and pulled back to the pit area and called it a night.

“It was a long night, but we did learn some things and make some gains so we will look to put those to use in Petaluma this weekend,” Lamar added.

Cody and his team would like to thank A1 Septic, Amsoil, Walker Performance Filtration, and Joe Hunt Magnetos for their continued support.

2018 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-4, Wins-0, Top 5’s- 0, Top 10’s-1
