PETERSEN MEDIA: Racing his way to a seventh place finish on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, young Blake Carrick is eager to make a return trip to the speedway this weekend for two nights of action during the Nor*Cal Posse Shootout.

“We were pretty fast on Saturday night, and it was nice to get the guys another Top-10 finish,” Blake Carrick said.

Timing the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 38B machine in 15thquickest in qualifying time trials, Carrick would look to capitalize on the prime heat race starting position, and earn a spot in the redraw.

Getting called for hitting the throttle too early, Carrick would get moved to the second row of the heat before finishing third. Finishing third, Carrick would transfer into the feature event where he would have his work cut out for himself coming from the 14thstarting position on a very slick racing surface.

Following some track prep work before the feature event, the surface would remain slick, but multiple grooves were offered up, and this would allow Carrick to work his way through he field.

Amidst a very long green flag run that saw the race click off 18 circuits in seemingly no time at all, Carrick would claw and scratch his way forward as he got into the Top-10 and went looking for more.

Using the Lap-18 restart to his advantage, the youngster from Lincoln, CA would pick up a few more positions as he worked into the seventh position where he would go on to close out his night.

“It felt pretty good to come from the back against a pretty tough field of cars,” Carrick added. “Thanks to my guys for all of their hard work. Hopefully we can keep this week this weekend during the Two-Day show.”

Blake Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, and Arai for their continued support
