PETERSEN MEDIA- Aiden Larimer endured a tough weekend but overcame some issues to put together a second place finish during the championship finale on Sunday evening during the Barn Burner Thanksgiving Nationals in Chowchilla, CA.
The two-day showcase kicked off on Saturday night with Larimer timing the Cornaggia Farms/Stone Motorsports/Mark Sutton Construction machine in fifth quickest in qualifying time trials.
Picking up a third place finish in his heat race, the Merced, CA youngster would move into the preliminary night feature event. Battling some issues in the feature event, Larimer would continue to hit his marks and make good laps as he closed his night with a sixth place finish.
Moving to Sunday’s Thanksgiving Nationals finale, Larimer would again get off to a nice start as he again timed in sixth quickest in time trials before finishing third in his heat race.
Continuing to battle gremlins, the red hot Box Stock pilot would put on an exciting show in the Sunday night feature event. Overcoming some adversity, Larimer was able to run well at one his biggest races of the winter as he brought the curtain down on the race with a second place finish.
