(PETERSEN MEDIA-Sacramento, CA)- With the calendar changing over to 2019, the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Series is eager to release their schedule for the upcoming season as well as a few new changes that will be in place.
Running for the past two seasons under the leadership of Rick Faeth and Glad Enterprises, Inc., 2019 will see series founder and sponsor, Roger Gleason of Joe Hunt Magnetos reassume the leadership role as he will work closely with long time car owner, Brian Sperry, and long time competitor, Scott Hall.
2019 is an exciting season for the Joe Hunt Magneto Wingless Series as the schedule boasts 11 events at six different facilities in the Golden State, including the series’ first ever appearance at Merced Speedway on July 20th, as well as two shows alongside the King of the West/NARC Series, and one show alongside the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.
Scheduled to kick off on March 30th at Sonoma-Marin County’s Petaluma Speedway, the Hunt Wingless Series will make stops all around the Golden State before the season comes to a head on November 1st in Stockton, CA.
Competitors should note, a fall date at Marysville Raceway is still in the works and will be released as soon as possible.
A busy off-season for the series has seen multiple new partnerships made that will allow each night to pay $1200 to the feature event winner with each feature event starter taking home a minimum of $200.
Aside from the nightly purse increase, the 2019 Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Series Champion will walk away with $1500 with the payout going all the way down to 10th, which will pay $700. On top of a cool payout, a wide array of prizes will also be handed out during the Championship banquet at the conclusion of the season, making this year one of the richest in series history.
A major rule change that will be implemented in 2019 will be allowing competitors to utilize a Roller Cam in their engine package. While the Roller Cam has been outlawed in years past, those who choose to continue to run the Flat Tappet Cam will have a bonus on the line each night. $500 total will be up for grabs with the highest finishing driver taking home $250, the second highest finisher snagging $150, and the third $100. If less than three drivers with Flat Tappet Cams show up, the unclaimed money will be rolled into a season ending bonus with the highest finishing driver in the standings using a Flat Tappet Cam taking home the remaining balance.

JOE HUNT MAGNETOS WINGLESS SERIES- Joe Hunt Magnetos’ Roger Gleason brought the traveling concept to non-wing sprint cars by popular demand in 2010. Over the years, the Joe Hunt Magnetos Sprint Car Series has ran a limited schedule at select tracks around the state. After running under the leadership of Prentice Motorsports Group and Glad Enterprises from 2016-2018, 2019 see’s Gleason come back aboard as the series embarks on an 11 race schedule at six different venues.
